Privacy Policy

PointPulse · Last updated 24 August 2026

Short version: PointPulse does not sell your personal information and does not operate data-collection servers. Match, Health, motion, location and saved-player data stays on your devices and, if enabled, in your private iCloud container.

Data the app uses

Match data, including scores, points, duration, saved player display names, optional venue and court surface, is stored on your device and may sync through your private iCloud container.

Health and fitness data, including heart rate, active energy and workout duration, is read through HealthKit with your permission. It is used only for live, match-level and score-linked effort features and is not used for advertising.

Motion data used for auxiliary-wrist tennis insights remains on your devices.

Location is optional and remains with the match on your devices and in your private iCloud container. You can score matches without granting location access.

Photos add-only access is requested only when you choose to save a match report. The app does not read or browse your photo library.

The app has no user account and does not require sign-in. It contains no advertising, third-party analytics, or tracking SDKs.

Natural pronunciation of player names

The app can speak a player's name in the same voice it uses for the score, using a speech model included in the app. This happens when you switch on voice announcements for a match: the two players in that match are prepared then, so they can be named out loud instead of being read by the system voice. There is nothing to configure and no list of names to choose from.

Only names you have already given the app are used — the players in the match you are scoring and names saved in your profile and roster. Your contacts are never read. The name, selected male or female voice, phonemes and generated audio are processed and cached entirely on your iPhone. Nothing is sent to PointPulse or a third-party speech service, and no speech-service account is used.

The generated audio is a cache. Removing a saved player removes their audio, removing the app removes the cache entirely, and iOS may clear it when the device is short of storage — in which case it is generated again the next time a match needs it.

Match sharing and iCloud

If you choose to share a match, the app creates a privacy-filtered match file and presents the iOS share sheet. Health, calories, raw motion and precise GPS coordinates are excluded. You control the recipient and sharing service.

If you use iCloud, match history and saved opponent information may be stored in the app's private iCloud container so it can sync across your devices. We cannot access that private container.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by Apple. We do not receive payment details. See Apple's Privacy Policy for Apple's processing of purchase data.

Your choices and deletion

You can remove a saved player to remove their locally cached name audio, revoke Health, Location or Photos access in system Settings, and delete matches and saved players in the app. Deleting the app removes locally stored data and the generated-name cache from that device.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
