The short version: nothing you record leaves your device. Trove has no account system and no server of its own, and it sends none of your data anywhere. The only network traffic the app generates is Apple's own purchase flow, which never carries your records.

When you record an item you may enter a name, a price, a purchase date, a category, and how heavily you use it. This is written to a single file inside the app's own container on your device (the system's Application Support directory). It is never uploaded anywhere.

Trove offers a one-time purchase that removes the free item limit. It is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store; the app only asks the system whether the purchase exists. A pre-release build briefly sent unrecognised item names to a third-party encyclopaedia to guess a category. That was removed before release: recognition now runs entirely on device. If any future version sends something off the device, this page will be updated to say exactly what and when, before that version ships.
